• Mandatory Gear Exemption (4km Category): * Participants in the 4km (Under 13,
Under 16, Under 18, and Open) categories are exempted from the mandatory gear
list required for longer distances.
o This exemption is due to the non-technical nature of the 4km course (80%
paved/concrete) and the high density of marshals and checkpoints.
o Note: While not mandatory, participants are still encouraged to carry a small
water bottle and their mobile phone.
5. EVENT RULES & ABANDONMENT
• Pacing: No external assistance or pacers allowed.
• Cut-Off Times (COT): Failure to leave a CP before the COT requires retirement from
the race.

Last Common Timing Point (LCTP) reached by the lead pack or majority.
o Potential winners remain subject to Photo Matching and gear checks even in
abandoned races.
• Result Disputes: Top positions must be disputed within 1 hour with a RM200
deposit; general results within 7 days via email.

Immediate DQ.
• Respect: Unsporting behavior toward staff or runners may result in penalties.
7. DATA PRIVACY & MEDIA
• Media Grant: Participants grant the Organizer rights to use event photos/video for
marketing.
• Winner Validation: The PRE-RPC photo will be used for digital matching against a

• Placement: The race bib must be worn on the front of the torso (chest or waist
level).
• Visibility: It must be clearly visible at all times and must not be hidden by jackets,
hydration vests, or waist belts.
• Prohibition: Participants are strictly prohibited from wearing the bib on their back,
side, or legs, as this interferes with Instant Verification and timing sensors.
• Modifications: The bib must be worn in its original size; folding, cutting, or defacing
the bib is not allowed.
• Verification Compliance: Failure to keep the bib visible prevents the crew from
performing on-course swap detection and finish line matching.
• Penalties: * First Warning: Marshals may stop a runner to adjust the bib.
o Persistent Refusal: May result in a time penalty or DQ if identity cannot be
verified.
9. INTERNATIONAL SPORTING STANDARDS
• Solidarity & Assistance: Every participant is under a strict obligation to assist any
person in danger or distress.
• Protocol: You must stay with the injured person until help arrives or until a marshal
releases you.
• Time Credit: Any time lost during such assistance will be calculated and credited to
your final result by the Race Director.
• No Muling: Participants must carry all of their own mandatory gear, food, and water
at all times.
• Muling Penalty: Receiving assistance to carry gear ("muling") from pacers,
spectators, or fellow runners is strictly prohibited and results in DQ.
• Authorized Assistance Zones: External assistance (food, hydration, or gear
changes) is only permitted within the designated 50-meter radius of official
checkpoints (CP).
• Outside Assistance: Receiving any assistance outside these zones results in a 1-
hour time penalty or DQ.
• Audio Devices: For safety and situational awareness, the use of noise-canceling
headphones is prohibited.
• Audio Protocol: If using headphones, participants must use only one earbud or
"open-ear" bone conduction technology to ensure they can hear marshals, traffic,
or other runners.
• Environmental Integrity:
o Trekking Poles: Must be fitted with rubber tips to prevent trail erosion.
o Pole Restrictions: The use of poles is prohibited during the first 1km of the
race and other area as per signage to prevent injury in crowded sections.
o Flora & Fauna: Strictly no picking of plants or disturbing wildlife.
o Shortcuts: Shortcuts that create "social trails" are forbidden and result in
DQ.
10. CLEAN SPORT & MEDICAL RECOVERY
• Clean Sport Statement: CULTRA 2026 promotes a Clean Sport environment based
on the values of health, ethics, and fair play.
• Ethics: While the Organizer may not conduct formal drug testing, any participant
found using prohibited performance-enhancing substances or artificial recovery
methods will be disqualified for unsporting behavior.
• Intravenous (IV) Infusions: The use of IV drips (saline, glucose, etc.) for recovery
during the race is strictly prohibited.
• Requirement to Retire: Any participant who receives an IV infusion for any reason,

o WARNING: Do not wait until you return to your hometown to process this
form. Insurers require the signature of the physician who performed the
initial assessment and treatment. Forms filled out by a different doctor at a
later date will not be accepted.
• Required Documentation: Participants must prepare and provide:
o For Medical Expenses: Original medical receipts stating the cause of injury.
o For Death: Official death certificate
o The Claim Form, duly signed/stamped by the attending doctor.
• Submission: Submit all documents to info@boltevents.asia.
• Participant Responsibility: Participants are responsible for ensuring all details are
