Grab your Teammates and join us on our annual Relay around the infamous UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE Site , GEORGETOWN! Together with Penang Municipal City Council (MBPP) Sunday Car- Free Day initiative, the race will take you through the historic sites of Georgetown!

 

So gather around for the long holidays no matter you're beginner or Seasoned runners for a thrilling race ! We'll see you there on the 15th September 2024! An epic race that wouldn't wanna be missed !

FORWARD ANNUAL RELAY 2024 TERMS & CONDITIONS

Date: 15th September 2024

Time: 6:30am – 10:00 am 

Venue: Beach Street, Penang

Distance: 3 km X 5 = 15 km (Competitive)

3 km X 4 = 12 km (Fun Run)

Category: Competitive Categories: Team consists of 5 runners

  • Men Open (Age 15 – 39+)
  • Men Veteran (Age 40 and above)
  • Women Open (All Age)
  • Mixed Open (All Age) (minimum 2 females ) 
    • 2 Females + 3 males
    • 3 Females + 2 males

*Female runners will be running the first baton of the relay.

Fun Run: Team consists of 4 runners. ( 15 years & above ) 

  • Team can be form in any gender and ages.

Team Name: Please note that the team’s name shall not exceed 20 alphabets (according to your registered Team Name). This is due to length limitation printed team name on race bib.

Cut-off Time: 2 hours ( 630am -830am ) cut off time 

Registration: Open to All Malaysians or permanent residents or foreign runners who has a valid work permit in Malaysia and age 15 and above based on 15 September 2024

Total Team: As merrier as possible 

Registration Fee: SPEED     - RM300-00 each team (including complementary T-shirt, finisher medal and e-cert, baton )
FUN RUN -RM200-00 each team (including complementary T-shirt, finisher medal and e-cert, baton )
 

Running Attire: Team singlet or T-shirt are recommended for easy recognition.

Rules and regulations:

  • Participants are required to wear the race bib at the front during the event day. Pin your race bib prominently as high as possible using safety pins. Please ensure that the race bib is visible.
  • The racecourse are not fully closed during the event day as it’s accessible for public, Rela/road marshals will be stationed at strategic points to ensure all runners runs the correct route and fair competition, and most important runners safety.
  • No substitutions are allowed before or during race day without prior written consent to the Organizer & prior of approval from the Organizer. Failure to do so will result immediate disqualification from the race.
  • Participants are required to wear the race bib at the front and pin your race bib as high as possible to ensure it is visible during the event day. 
  • The runners shall passing the batons to the next runner in the transition Zone, failure to do so will result immediate disqualification from the race.
  • Pacers are allowed to pace the participants during the event after 200m from the starting line and must stop 200m before the transition zone upon completion of their lap.
  • The organizer will not be held responsible for any incidents resulting from the non-compliance of the above.



 

Timing Chip and Baton

  • All team representatives or captain are requiring collecting a “baton” from designated race official on race day commencing at 6:00am and before the flag-off time.
  • There will be strictly no distribution of batons after 6:30am, latecomers will be disqualified from the event.
  • The event will be flagged off at 6.30am sharp. Participants who run must hold the baton in hands, without a baton will be disqualified.
  • Finisher medals will be distributed to runners after the race and upon return of batons, failed to return the batons will be automatically disqualified from the event. The Organizer will reserve the right to charge participants for the costs involved in event of runner lost & failed to return their baton.

Venue: Sprint @ Gurney Paragon Lot 163D-3-30B & 31 Gurney Paragon Mall, Persiaran Gurney, 10250 George Town, Pulau Pinang

Team Captain / representative is responsible for race pack collection, please bring along “The Confirmation Slip" to collect your race entry pack. It is the responsibility of the team Captains to deliver the bibs to the runners based on the running leg / sequence of 1 – 5 (Competitive) or 1 – 4. (Fun Run) as follow the registration list. Strictly no race kit collection after the collection time or on event day.
