Experiencing and Understanding Your Needs from Health and Wellness Perspective

Creating a balance between work and life can be challenging when both demand your attention and energy. When career and personal life are balanced, you will be able to manage yourself better, impacting positively all aspects of your life. This insightful and experiential workshop will give you the opportunity to reflect on your personal and professional goals as well as understand the importance of health and wellness to support your wellbeing.

 

What you will learn:

  • Understand the meaning of Work-Life Balance and the evolving definition of this term in our fast paced lives
  • Examine and reflect your current work-life balance from the Six Dimension of Wellness Model
  • Movement based practices (Yoga), breath-work and introduction to mindfulness to achieve and maintain balance of the mind and body
  • Stress Management and Relaxation Response
  • Insight to Science of Mindfulness
  • Self-care on physical activities
  • Self-care on relationships
  • Gut Health and nutrition

 

Who Should Attend

  • Anyone who wants to learn tools, techniques and lifestyle choices to manage and reduce stress, perform better at work and achieve a healthier work-life balance.

Content

The workshop consists of 3 separate, independent sessions, with a charge of RM50 per session. Here you can buy the tickets for session 2 on 25th May 2019. Session 3 will be open for registration soon.

  • Self-care on Relationship. Focus on using assessment method to assess the current relationship skills of participants.
  • Explain outcome of the assessment
  • Discuss on developing emotional intelligence.
  • Discuss on seeking out and maintaining relationships with high quality people
  • Discuss on understanding and leading effectively across line of difference
  • Discuss on minimising time spent with toxic people
  • Discuss on action steps

About Your Trainers
Gwen Wynne has been practising yoga for over 20 years and teaching since 2011. Her training with Tiffany Cruikshank, Judith Hanson Lasater and Patrick Creelman shaped her practice and teaching style focusing on safe alignment, synchronising movement with mindful breath, creating a strong yet therapeutic practice to achieve balance of strength, stability and mobility in the body. Gwen also brings mindfulness in her classes as a way to spark a deeper sense of connection between the body, mind and spirit. She enjoys sharing her yoga and meditation practices by offering her students a safe space where they can feel supported, inspired and benefit from their practice.

 

As a lifetime student of Yoga, Gwen is currently completing her 500-hours Advanced Teacher Training under Tiffany Cruikshank’s Yoga Medicine.

 

Currently based in Penang, Gwen also leads teacher training on functional anatomy and wellness retreats around Asia. When Gwen is not studying or teaching, she can be found running after or with her family of boys, traveling around the world to explore the magic and vibrancy of our beautiful planet. Mostly, she strives to stay present within all the complexity that life presents.

Gina Koay is a registered Pharmacist, Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, and Accredited Pharmacist in Complementary Medicine Education.

Gina started City Wellness Pharmacy in 2007, with one mission in mind, which is to “Help People Smile Again.” City Wellness Pharmacy is a community-based pharmacy, focused on providing the best healthcare service in Penang, Malaysia. Gina also founded Better.Me Wellness Hub. She desires to give health and wellness solutions by providing education training programs and health coaching services.

Her areas of trainings include healthcare and self-care topics, work-life balance, nutrition and evidence-based complementary medicines. Gina is also a frequent public speaker in various schools, corporate settings and public events.

For the past 18 years, Gina has been in the community & pharmaceutical services industry both in Malaysia and Australia. This has given Gina vast exposure in managing diverse health situations for health solutions and wellness advice.

Currently, Gina is the Chairman for the Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society, Penang Area and Chairman of WomenBizSENSE, a registered women entrepreneur organization in Penang. Gina is also a certified PSMB/HRDF Trainer.
