Sup guys. I'm a huge fan of the AWP simply because holding a long angle and getting that one-shot headshot kill is incredibly satisfying. But I want to know where everyone else stands. Anyone care to argue for a different weаpon? What's your go-to gun in CS 1.6 for dealing maximum damage?

Obviously, the AK-47 is a massive contender here since it also offers that sweet one-tap headshot potential at a fraction of the cost. Do you think the price tag of the AWP makes it less viable in tight economic rounds, or is it always worth saving up for? Personally, I feel like rifles give you way more mobility, especially when you need to rush a site or clear out close corners. Plus, missing a single shot with a bolt-action sniper can completely ruin your round if the enemy pushes you fast.
How do you balance that high-risk, high-reward factor when choosing your loadout?

To be fair, I really struggle with the AWP since my reaction time just isn't fast enough for quick scoping yet. Back when I played CS2, my absolute favorite was the Negev, mostly because spraying bullets everywhere and shredding everything in sight was so effective. For Counter-Strike 1.6, that love for heavy firepower naturally led me to the M249, which is the only machine gun available in the game. It turns out that if your opponent is running without armor, a single lucky hit is often more than enough to completely shut them down and secure the round win.
