Norhartini Haron

I’m Tini Haron. Subang Jaya is home but my mind often
moves between extremes.
In 2024, I turned to art not for fame, but for survival.
Diagnosed with Bipolar disorder type 1, I found clarity in chaos and transmitted it in every brushstroke.

Artwork Title:
Blue & White Abundance

Inspired by love, this piece reimagines the blue-and-white porcelain resting 400 years beneath the South China Sea. In these imagined depths, seafarers embrace in peaceful rest, guarded by Foo dogs.
An orchid (lanhua) blooms near them with its “heavenly fragrance,” while lingzhi drifts nearby, symbolizing longevity and immortality. A porcelain vase filled with sunflowers symbolising prosperity, luck, and long life balances playfully atop a shipwreck.
Other figures appear in this underwater scene: a ballerina’s delicate toes echo the grace of a long-lived deer, and a proud peacock glides through the deep, while a great coiled dragon hovers above as if commanding time itself.
Amid the remnants of the wreck, a Ruyi head surfaces and swims gently through the central emblem of the work, expressing its timeless blessing: “May your wish be granted.”
