‘The Flamingo Movement’ Charity Run 2019

‘The Flamingo Movement’ is a non-competitive charity run in-support of Breast Cancer Awareness. Flamingos are chosen to be the symbol and icon for this movement. These birds are strong in numbers as they move in unison when there is a threat. This symbolizes the community can come together to build a strong network of support to people whose life are affected by cancer.

LET’S GIVE HOPE TO THE NEEDY

All funds collected from this run will be in aid of the needy cancer patients who cannot afford their treatment. Last year, a total of RM 1.5 million was disbursed to financially assist 272 deserving cancer patients. One of the patients is Mr Lim who is currently undergoing treatment for bone and liver cancer. Mr Lim was the sole breadwinner for his wife and three teenage children. Despite his desperation to support his family, he was pressured to resign due to his health condition. Now, his family is only relying on SOCSO welfare while we help him with his cancer treatment. It is with the support from donors like yourself that we are able to let Mr Lim and his family especially his three teenage children know that they are not alone in this fight.
