Terms & Conditions for participants

 

  1. Your team will compete in the Malaysia Stage Finals against 29 other teams from all over Malaysia.  Participation in the Finals is FREE!
  2. The winner of the Malaysia Stage Finals in Penang will be sponsored fully by the Spogomi World Cup for a 6-day visit to Japan from 26th October 2025 ~ 31st October 2025 to compete against 39 other teams from all over the World!  Malaysia came in 8th in the World at the last World Cup Spogomi which was won by the United Kingdom.
  3. Conditions for the team members:
    1. Team must be comprised of 3 members aged 15 or older. There is no upper age limit.  Participants under the age of 15 requires parental consent to participate and to travel to Japan with an appointed team chaperone.  
    2. A team must consist of ONE Malaysian Citizen or Permanent Resident.  The other 2 members may be of other nationality as long as they have valid Malaysian Visa to stay.
    3. Teams may consist of either gender and family members for both Mini-Spogomi and the Finals.  Substituting members for the team is permitted but must still comply with participating criteria above.
    4. Registration period: 1st April ~ 30th April. Open to ALL Malaysia.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Your submission is NOT a guarantee that you will be able to participate.  This is because ONLY 30 teams can participate in the Malaysia Finals.  Teams will be selected by LUCKY DRAW and we will inform you if you have been selected by May 2nd.  Please don’t contact us, we’ll contact you!

  1. The Competition – a brief
    1. Team of three players are given ONE HOUR to collect items of rubbish within a designated playing area.  
    2. Upon return, teams are given 20 minutes to correctly sort the rubbish into categories and points are rewarded for both the amount of waste collected by the teams, and what kind of waste is collected.
    3. Points will be given for weight and types of rubbish collected.  The team with the highest points will win the event.

 

Information contained herein is correct at the time of publishing, but the organisers reserve the right to amend or change this T&C as and when deemed necessary.  

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Your submission is NOT a guarantee that you will be participating.  All submissions will be put through a DRAW.  Teams will be NOTIFIED if they are successful and can participate.  Those not drawn to participate in the first round will be placed in ORDER on the WAITING LIST.   As there may be withdrawls of teams until the last minute, we encourage all teams to be on STANDBY until the morning of the Finals as you may be called upon.  Please do NOT contact us to enquire about your status as we will not entertain them under any circumstances.   The decision of the organisers is FINAL.
