When and where do I need to complete my run?

You can complete your run anywhere at a location of your choice any time between 12.00 am, 7 March and 11.59 pm, 21 March 2021 (GMT+8). Ensure that you submit your record by 11.59 pm, 21 March 2021 (GMT+8) to be eligible to win the cash prizes.

The virtual run offers you an opportunity to participate in a racing experience within your own community. Please ensure that you are following government guidelines in your country, state or local government area for COVID-19 when choosing your run location.

Is there a cut-off time my run submission?

Yes, submit your record by 11.00pm (GMT+8) daily between 7-21 March 2021.

If you reside outside of Malaysia, please note the date and time difference in your respective country.

Is there a designated route for the run?

No, there is no designated route for the run. You can choose your own route and location. We encourage you to choose a route that is safe and has strong GPS signal if you are running outdoors. Please follow government guidelines in your country, state or local government area for COVID-19 and safe pedestrian practices when on the roads.

If you are running indoors, please adhere to the rules and regulations. Safety is our priority.

How do I participate in the run?

This is how it works:

Register

Register for free via the https://howei.com/event_details/runflyingcolourspassiton (registration dates are from 1 February to 11.59pm, 12 March 2021 (GMT+8).

• Choose your category of single ticket or Group of 4.
• Upon completion of registration, you will receive a confirmation email and e-bib number.

Track Your Run and Submit Your Record Daily

• Run or walk as fast as you can to complete a distance.
• When you have completed your distance, submit your record (latest submission by 11.00 pm daily).
• After your record is submitted, it will be added to the leaderboard – You can  submit multiple entry during the day for the leaderboard. We encourage you to run, walk or jog as our aim is to stay active and challenge yourself how far you can go. We hope to use run to push beyond your limits
• You can also use a GPS to track your run. We recommend to use Runkeeper/ Strava/ Map By Run free App or any running track devices
• Your app should contain activity time, pace/speed, calories.

Celebrate Your Achievement

• Celebrate and share your run achievement to our Run with Flying Colours - JCI Pearl Facebook Group with photos from your run or a selfie. Post your photos on social media with the hashtag #2021VirtualRunWithFlyingColours #PassItOn #ChooseToChallenge #BeyondAllLimits #jcipearlpenang to inspire others.
• View your results and download your e-certificate via the https://howei.com/ from 28 March 2021 onwards.
• Wait for your merchandise to be delivered to your mailing address.

How do I complete the run and submit my record?

You can complete the run and submit your record any time between 12.00am to 11.00pm daily from 7-21 March 2021 (GMT+8). To record your run, you can use any tracking devices(eg. Garmin, Fitbit, Suunto, Polar etc) with own connection apps map that allows you to keep track of your run. If you do not have any tracking devices, we recommend using Runkeeper – Distance Run Tracker which can be downloaded for free from the App Store or Google Play.

When you have completed your distance, submit your record. Once you submit your record, it will be added to the leaderboard. You can only submit one entry for the leaderboard each time.

Note that all participants who are taking part in the challenger run will need to submit records on a daily basis before 11.00pm (GMT+8) for verification. Failure to do so may result in automatic disqualification.

Can I cycle or rollerblade to complete the distance?

No, you cannot cycle or rollerblade to complete the distance. All wheeled vehicles and objects are not allowed during the run at any time, e.g. rollerblades, skateboards, scooters, hoverboards, bikes, motorcycles, cars, etc.

If we found unique track records, we will ask for further verification details via email.

What safety measures should I be aware of?

• Your safety, and the safety of our community, is our number one priority.
• Practice good hygiene and safe physical distancing as required by your country, state or local government area.
• Follow government guidelines in your country, state or local government area for COVID-19.
• Be sure to observe traffic safety laws and safe pedestrian practices when completing your run.
• Remember to warm up, cool down, stretch and drink plenty of fluids.
• As for mask use, please follow the mandate of your local authorities and wear it if you feel unable to safely adhere to physical distancing measures.

Is there a deadline to register?

Yes, extended registration will close at 11.59pm, 12 March 2021 (GMT+8).

Who can register and participate?

Anyone can take part! The virtual run is open to everyone from anywhere around the world. You can be an experienced runner or just getting started.

What are the category and distance options?

There are individual ticket and Group of 4 tickets Note that you need a personal profile in https://howei.com to submit your run record. Distance are calculated on a single participant basis.

I have registered but did not receive my confirmation email. What should I do?

If you did not receive your confirmation email, please check your spam, junk, promotions and social folders, or any other tabs in your inbox. If it is not there, please email helpdesk@howei.com with your full name and email address used for registration.

When can I get my merchandise?

Merchandises will be delivered out in batches from 7 March 2021 onwards.

If you did not receive your merchandises by 15 April 2021, please email helpdesk@howei.com with your full name, contact number and email address used for registration.

How do I win the lucky draw?

Once you register as a participant, you are entitled to be in the running to win lucky draw. Your e-bib will be your lucky draw number.

How do I participate in the video contest?

Step 3: Record One (1) Minute Video

*Wear any PURPLE colour, be creative, show us IWD’s #ChooseToChallenge pose in your video.

Step 4: a) Upload your video to JCI Pearl Run with Flying Colours Facebook group before 21st March 2021 (Sunday)

b)  Write caption of your e-bib number and your location. If we are unable to see the caption, video upload will be disqualified from the contest.

How do I upload my run results?

1. 1. 1. Login with your email and password in https://howei.com/
      2. Go to right side to click on your profile.
      3. Choose My Virtual Events.

1. 1. 4.  Click onto ‘Upload Results’.

1. 1. 5. Type in the date, distance & time as shown in your app.
      6. A screenshot of your results via your App is a must to upload.
      7. Your app should contain activity time, pace/speed, calories.
      8. Do a selfie post to celebrate your achievement.
      1. Click Submit.

When can I get my results?

Results can be seen in the leaderboard on a daily basis. Final results will be available in https://howei.com on 28 March 2021.

When can I download my e-certificate?

You can view your results and download your e-certificate & e-vouchers from 28 March 2021.

Do I need to submit additional run records for verification?

Only the top 112 finishers are required to submit additional records for verification if the organizer found discrepancies. Kindly keep all your records for verification purposes.

Disclaimer:

• The organizer reserves the rights to verify all records submitted via https://howei.com. Professional 3rd party would be verifying all results submission.
• The Organiser will not entertain nor be in any way responsible for any disputes arising from incomplete or inaccurate entry details in the registration form.
• The Organiser reserves the right to replace the next longest distance winners if he/she is found to be disqualified.
• For winners or potential winners, disputes and appeals must be made by 6pm 23 March 2021 (GMT+8) of the published results on the results notice board on-site, failing which the Organiser reserves the right not to entertain any disputes or appeals thereafter.
• For all other Participants, disputes and appeals regarding the results must be submitted in writing including electronic mail by 23 March 2021. The Organiser reserves the right not to entertain any dispute or appeals thereafter.
• For all disputes, the Organiser's decision is final and no other disputes thereafter will be entertained.
• For all other Participants, any discrepancy in their results, must be informed to the Organiser via electronic mail by 23 March 2021 after the official results have been published on the Official Website. No requests for amendment of timing or ranking and follow-ups will be entertained thereafter.
