This year marks Penang Amateur Athletic Association’s continued its tradition of  33rd year of organising the ‘Tanjung Run’ in conjunction with Penang Governor Tun Dr. Abdul Rahman Abbas’ birthday.  The Governor’s official residence (Seri Mutiara) was situated along the route for the race where the runners had to pass by and return to Sepoy Lines Road to complete the race.

Tanjung run is a good example where through participation, we are celebrating the Governor’s birthday, engaging in physical activities and contributing towards community programmes from the proceeds, a 3-in-1 package.  It is also aligned with the cleaner, greener, healthier and safer Penang State Government campaign.

Lions Club of Tanjung Penang is the co-organiser of the event and the proceeds from the run were channeled to the club for its community programme to buy life saving Automated External Defibrillator (AED) units.

Participants will receive a goodies bag include Good quality Tanjung run T-shirt, E&O buffet discount voucher and many more.  Participant also stand a higher chance to win lucky draw of a Motorcycle, 2 days 1 night stay at Hilton Hotel, Buffet Dinner of 2 at Hard Rock Hotel and many more compare to others run as only 1000 participants is accepted for this run.
