Welcome to the Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge 2023 event page!

Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge (YEC) aims to provide a platform for the youth to showcase their creativity, innovation in their business idea. Besides, this platform also aims to develop the youth’s idea into reality through guidance and mentorship provided throughout this program.

Objectives:
• Foster and mentoring youth to the path of entrepreneurship
• Inspire young entrepreneurs to be more competitive and dynamic with today’s innovation and technology.
• Provide a platform for youth to interact and share innovative business ideas besides developing their
  entrepreneurial ideas.
• Provide opportunity of exposure to youth in gaining practical experience in entrepreneurship.

YEC 2023 Timeline:
•  Registration period - 23 March to 31 May 2023
•  Deadline for submission of business report -  30 June 2023

TERMS & CONDITIONS (Category - High School)

• Youth aged 15 to 17;
• Youth who are born in Malaysia;
• Participants can register in a group of 2 or up to a maximum of 5 in a group;
• All school participants - you are required to get a supporting letter from your school;
• You are required to prepare a Business Plan;
• Business plan and presentation to be prepared in English;
• Each team must be representing your own school;
• Participants that did not meet the requirements will be disqualified immediately;
• Objections will not be entertained as all decisions are FINAL;
• Business plan which won in any other competition are not qualified;
• Projects must bring benefit / added value to the community or country;
• Winner (Champion, 1st runner up  & 2nd runner up) from the previous YEC competition are not allowed to participate again;
• Registration by teacher advisor and through school participation.

TERMS & CONDITIONS (Category - Open)

• Youth aged 18 to 35;
• Youth who are born in Malaysia;
• Foreign students (non-Malaysian) are required to get a supporting letter from your college / university
• Non-students may also be eligible to join
• You are required to prepare a Business Plan.
• You will need to register in a group of 2 to 5 person (with at least one team member is from Penang / permanent resident in Penang).
• All participants from Penang - you are required to get supporting letter from your school / college / university.
• All working adult from Penang - you are required to get supporting letter from your current organization / company / employer.
• Your idea/ presentation / services / product must be genuine and original.
• Winner (Champion, 1st runner up  & 2nd runner up) from the previous YEC competition are not allowed to participate again.
• Participants that did not meet the requirements will be disqualified immediately.
• Objections will not be entertained as all decisions are FINAL.
• Business plan and presentation to be prepared in English.
• Business plan which won in any other competition are not qualified.
• Projects must bring benefit / added value to the community or country.
• Entry fees for each team is RM 100.00 (please state your full name at the receipt reference).

High School Category (15-17 years old)
? total prize - RM 11,000

Open Category (18-35 years old)
? total prize - RM 25,000
